| Jason Kamras a 7th and
8th Grade Math teacher at John Philp Sousa Middle School was named
National Teacher of the Yer by President Bush and Laura.
Superintendent Cliff Janey said Kamras brings a
passion to teaching and a level of professionalism to the classroom
that creates a climate in which students thrive.
Kamras, a Princeton grad with a Master's from Harvard
said his desire to see his school excel is amplified by the unique
role Sousa played in the Civil Rights movement.
The District Press Release said "Kamras worked
in Jerusalem for the Israel Democracy Institute that aids Israel
as a democracy.
A committee of representatives from 14 national
education organizations choose the National Teacher of the Year
from among State Teachers of the Year.
Teachers are nominated by students, teachers, principals
and school district administrators throughout the states. Kamras
is a former New Yorker and former Californian
